The Cherry Blossom Rose
The Rose petals fell
Like the cherry blossom,
In the perfect new hour
Of that heart-beating day;
Vibrant color flowing
Like the poem of a smile,
Sunlight honey sweeter
In a prayer I long to pray.
The Rose petals softer
Silk skin is kissed by a sigh,
Like Angel wings hushing
Or a soul left there to sing;
Swaying on the perfume air
Before your reaching hand,
The sky so blue and deeper
As all time stops to begin.
The Rose opened before us
So eager to please the eye,
Blinking away happy tears
Shed before the star of night;
Beautiful as if in dreaming
And a promise made a voice,
Stolen by the mortal breath
In the vision of your sight.
