DIASPORA POEM: AWAY FROM HOME
POETRY AND ART COLLABORATION Many years gone
Times forgotten
Times unknown
Tears shed
Mind bleeds
Left my sweet home
I am away from home
Waiting in vain
Carry this throbbing pain
I can still smell the scented aroma of my land
I can still feel the warmth of sunshine
I remember the old Banyan tree
That jackfruit garden
My blue diary
My mother's sewing machine
Father's rocking chair
I left my grandma's grave
My grandfather's clock
My four strings love
My emotional bondage
My lonely heart cries
Magnetic attraction
Forced me towards destination
Floating emotions
Caged, broken
Under the same blue sky
No identity
Not native
Just meant to be alive
Thirst of return home
I lost
I surrender
I lost my name
It's me rohinga
It's me refugee
It's me diaspora
Away from home
I want to know
When can I go
Go back to my sweet home.
