The poet's poem was chosen as a 'Best Entry' and among eight (Best Entry) poems, altogether, out of 24 entries in ILA Magazine's 'Heart Challenge', offered last week: "Your heart has just scheduled a meeting with you. What's on your heart's agenda that needs to be discussed?" Poets were required to write a poem as if in deep conversation with their heart, and also required to apply at least one of the vocabulary words (from a previous and separate post), inserted into their poem.
Maybe it was love at first sight Upon love touched my heart outright When I met a winsome lady At once, my heart beats rapidly Like bell's tintinnabulation Seemed sign, go on love that maiden. In a sense, to pursue her love I hesitated, I think of If I open my chest widely Give you, my heart, to her wholly Possibly she will love me then But without you, my heart, what then? As I'd given you, my heart, to her Will I still be alive thereafter? Those were, to my heart great questions I felt my heart's bouncing pulsations Somewhat my heart replied seemingly Strong pulse I heard like guffaw loudly Yet, I pursued her love. When my heart said: "She's so winsome, go on don't be afraid. I like her too, she's definitely so sweet, and I know she'll let your life be complete." I said okay, I'll follow your great advice My lady agreed for frequent dates, she's nice. We dated for many times, and ever since However, I am losing my patience For she hasn't agreed to love me though My heart said, "Patience is a virtue." "Okay," I said to my heart, "I'll be patient Not to have heartache, not to be a patient." I asked for her love continuously I sensed she will love me totally But she has no positive answer yet Then my heart says, "Be patient, don't forget." And finally, my love and her love rhymes Because she loved me, and it is sublime. My heart told me, "See, I'm your heart, a good heart. My impulse to be followed by you from start. I will not let you be in great trouble. Never let you be to love, in struggle." My heart's present instincts, I took, I valued I always acknowledge my heart with thank you.
