Written by SONALI RAY When the tired sun retires and the bright pearl isn't around the corner. When the stars merrily scour the dark meadow when in darkness I can see your shadow. When the blooms wait for the gold to rise when nightingale sings, owls hoot the song of the wise. When the wilted petals have forgotten their fragrance but in my veins, why do I feel your essence When the doors and windows remain latched why do I hear that known footstep? When the weary breeze rests of a while my ears catch your friendly whistle. When the darkness has consumed every inch of my heart why do I still fear losing you, tell me, my familiar stranger? When the soul is raging like a turbulent sea why do I still fantasize, someday, You and I will again become We? © 10/2021
