A Sonnet: The Defeat

It was a peaceful evening in order. Sun was lost in golden edges of sky. Moon was peeking from the other corner.

The flawless beauty seemed to edify. That's when there was a lethal explosion. Only screams, wounds, and tears were all around. And the peace of the evening was broken. The blood splatters covered the grace profound. The battle bell was sounded suddenly Amid the noise of bullets and blasts that The sobs could not be heard actually It ended on pile of corpses in fact. Can't say who won but there was a defeat. That humanity couldn't stand on its feet. © Fatima Z. Sarah Country: India (Distinguished Poem - Female Poet)
